KALAFAT PROCEDURE

The kalafat is a sealing technique procedure of the wooden hulls. It creates

a soldering among the plankings so as to hold out the  power of the sea.

Actually it is used cotton or hemp, soaked with sinthetic resins or pitch.

The hull is controlled each year during the maintenance period.
